Ben Jalovek

Skating Director

Ben Jalovek, our Skating Director, brings 20 years of figure skating experience at both National and International levels. A 3-time U.S. Senior National Competitor and Team Switzerland International representative, Ben most recently achieved the prestigious title of 2024 Swiss National Gold Medalist. Int’l Ice Academy of Colorado is thrilled to have Ben share his wealth of knowledge and passion for skating, helping kids in the community learn to skate and discover a love for the ice.

Mark Sadusky – Team USA Skater & Coach

Mark Sadusky is an accomplished Team USA athlete, national competitor, and dedicated coach with over 10 years of experience. Known for his technical excellence and expressive artistry, he’s competed on some of the sport’s biggest stages, consistently ranking among the country’s top skaters.

As a coach, Mark is passionate about mentoring the next generation of skaters, helping them refine their skills, build confidence, and achieve their goals. His commitment to continuous growth, both as an athlete and coach, paired with his strong work ethic and positive leadership, makes him a valuable part of the figure skating community. Mark brings inspiration and expertise to the ice, creating a supportive environment where skaters can thrive.

JANIESE poole

Coach

Janiese Poole brings a wealth of experience and expertise to figure skating instruction. Having competed in U.S. and ISIA competitions worldwide, she has over 20 years of experience coaching figure skaters across the country. With more than 13 years as a professional learning and development instructor, Janiese combines her background in early education and dance kinesiology to provide a well-rounded and effective teaching approach. Her passion for the sport and dedication to her students set her apart as an exceptional coach.

Robyn Petroskey

Robyn Petroskey is a highly accomplished figure skater with an impressive competitive career. A seven-time U.S. Championship competitor, Robyn earned the 1988 Novice Ladies Silver Medal and became the 1989 Junior Ladies Champion in Figures. Her extensive experience and dedication to the sport make her an invaluable resource for aspiring skaters.

Sonja Hilmer

Sonja is a senior national competitor, international medalist, and a national/international choreographer. She has also achieved five USFS gold medals, participated in American Ice Theatre's Young Artists Showcase, and is the 2019 US solo international pattern dance champion. With over 20 years of experience on the ice, she specializes in choreography, skating skills, and spins and aims to encourage skaters to find their own unique qualities on the ice.

Klara is a National Ice Dance Competitor and a National Solo Dance Champion and medalist. With expertise in skating skills, performance, moves in the field, ice dance, and spins, Klarabrings a wealth of experience and passion to the ice. Dedicated to helping skaters refine their technique and artistry, Klara provides personalized instruction to inspire growth and excellence at every level.

Thomas Schwappach

Thomas Schwappach is a highly accomplished figure skating coach and athlete. A 3-time USFSA Gold Medalist and National Competitor in Ice Dance, Thomas also claimed the title of 2017 Men's Singles Collegiate National Champion. His expertise and passion for the sport make him a valuable asset to skaters striving to reach their full potential on the ice.

Emma Foster

Emma is a double gold medalist in freestyle and skating skills, with a top-ten placement at the Pacific Coast Sectionals. She has trained with some of the best spin and jump technicians across the country and worked alongside world-class choreographers, adapting their brilliant methods of creation. Emma is passionate about teaching skaters of all ages and helping them achieve their goals through hard work and effective guidance.

Ella Leiness

Elle Leines is a dedicated skating coach with 4 years of experience, teaching singles (Basic Skills to Bronze FS), off-ice conditioning, skating skills, and spins. Elle is a National competitor and holds 4 USFS Gold Medals in Senior Moves, Free Skate, Pattern Dance, and Solo Free Dance. She also has a B.S. in Exercise Science, bringing a strong foundation in both technical skills and fitness to her coaching. Elle’s passion for helping skaters grow and improve shines through in every lesson.
